The year is 1514. King Henry VIII with his Queen, Katherine of Aragon, and their royal court visit the village as part of their annual summer progress.
They are also celebrating the upcoming marriage of the King's beautiful sister, Mary, to the aging King Louis XII of France. It is not the makings of a love match, but Mary has learned that a royal princess has little say in a marriage.
The marriage of his sister, along with the hopes of an heir turn Henry's mind to the past, and the importance of family for the security of the nation. It was his father's marriage which finally ended The War of the Rose. A special royal court show on the earlier Tudors will focus on Henry's father, Henry VII, and the joining of the Yorks and the Lancasters to form the Tudor dynasty.
